Crazy laws, yet true aren't they

This blog is about some laws that I've read and enjoyed...Although crazy to a greater extent this is what happens most of the time.
Again happy reading and happy thinking
  • Lorenz's Law of Mechanical Repair: After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch.
  • Anthony's Law of the Workshop: Any tool, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner.
  • Kovac's Conundrum: When you dial a wrong number, you never get an engaged one.
  • Cannon's Karmic Law: If you tell the boss you were late for work because you had a flat tire, the next morning you will have a flat tire.
  • O'brien's Variation Law: If you change queues, the one you have left will start to move faster than the one you are in now.
  • Bell's Theorem: When the body is immersed in water , the telephone rings.
  • Ruby's Principle of close encounters: The probability of meeting someone you know increases when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with.
  • Willoughby's Law: When you try to prove to someone that a machine won't work, it will.
  • Zadra's law of bio mechanics: The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the reach.
  • Breda's rule: At any event, the people whose seats are furthest from the aisle arrive last.
  • Owen's law: As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold.
  • Howden's law: You remember you have to mail a letter only when you're near the mailbox.

Signing off for now....

My learning and my life

So, after a long time and after long persuasion I decided to blog some thing about philosophy. The reason for this long persuasion was, I believed (for some unexplainable reason) that I can deliver a lecture or speak with a person and get my thoughts crossed over, more than writing it. A greater part of it can be attributed to my lack of great writing skills (a major part in this can be attributed to my unique or different way of constructing sentences). But later I got a different insight that a well constructed article is formed only if the writer has utmost clarity of his thoughts. A little more insight put the usual question in me, why the heck should I share this stuff and what is utmost clarity? Because, everybody will have this in his/her mind and would be aware of this in more deeper sense.

But then I got the other chap in me spring up (getting ready for a crappy conversation in me) and said, "Person is smart, whereas people are dumb Since this article will be read by people (they are dumb) and the article is prepared by a person, that's me (I am smart ;) ) . So this gives a valid reason to post the blog."

But then the other 'I' in me rubbed his hands and said, "Agreed. But you forgot that this is a blog, so it will be read individually and not by a gathering. So that means a person at a time is going to read an article by another person. By your law, a Person is smart, that means a smartie is going to read something written by another smartie. So, like poles repel and the blog goes in vain".

Now came the question in me, who's advice should I take? But before I could put in any thought the first 'I' said "That's a valid point, but you forgot one thing there is nothing called as People, it is just collection of persons. In the same way this blog is also going to be read by a community (collection of persons) and hence completely abides by my law. So, the concept of blog won't go in vain, just go ahead Arun and make the post".

The second 'I' as though waiting for this moment said "Aha, now you are coming exactly to my point. There is never a concept called PEOPLE. It's just a word to indicate the collection of persons. So when an activity is done by people, it's just each smart person acts in his/her smart way. This when observed from another smart person's eyes looks dumb. This needs to be taught as the problem with the vision and not with action."

Both these guys(in me) went on, but I thought I will stop and see what they conversed? When diagnosed I found it to be a piece of sh** with no concept. But the real 'I' of me thought for a moment and said "hey its the sh** which is being used as manure for many crops which I take as food." So I decided to give a shot for this sh** philosophy and stop my writing here.

So, what say you ppl? Consider the sh** or just leave the sh** or classify it or do something else (innovative) with it ?

THE CHOICE IS ALWAYS YOURS.

Hard reset your PDA

This is another of my so called technical (geek?!) article, which I blabber at times. Ok, this is again a collection of facts that I've come across in the web and some of my experience with these.

So, before we go on the usual disclaimer stuff,
  1. If you hard reset your PDA/Smartphone you will lose all your data. So back-up your data first and then do this. In simple terms after hard resetting your PDA will be like the one you have bought new from a store.
  2. Don't do hard resetting for FUN sake and come complaining.
  3. If there is a password lock problem, for which you are hard resetting. There is no certainty that the password lock problem would vanish after hard reset. So for peculiar cases like these please refer to the device MANUAL.
  4. Always be sure whether do you want to do a HARD reset. Ask this question within you a couple of times.
  5. This is a collection from various forums and from my personal experiences. So, again to emphasize if this doesn't works for you or if the manufacturer of the device has changed the procedure means don't come calling me responsible.
  6. All THANKS to the original posters in the forums.

Installing MAC on your PC

Some time back, when I was in India, I tried a couple of new things like "Installing a Mac on a PC" and you know something it worked. All you need is the patch (AMD or Intel) which you can get from the internet and the installation DVD of Mac OS X. Be a good human and get it from Apple or from some authentic source. With these the installation is nothing, just like installing Microsoft Windows. If you are not able to get the CPU patch, then download VMWare player and use it to install the Mac.
I think the following links might be of use to any one of you,

http://tgrounds.blogspot.com/2007/05/osx86-on-pc.html ---> This site explains step by step procedure to install the Mac on your PC.

http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Installation_Guides ---> This is a cool wiki, which has mostly answers to all issues faced when installting Mac OS X on your PC. I like these guys and they are doing a good job.

http://aspnetresources.com/blog/macosx_in_winxp.aspx ---> This site discusses about a software called "PearPC" something like VMWare player. I haven't tried it, may be you can give a shot and post a reply as how it is .

http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/964/install_osx_tiger_on_intel_usb_drives_windows ---> This is another one discussing about installing Mac on PC.

Finally before ending up a good site which I found as a useful introduction as how to use VMWare player

Ah, Please take care that you do not use PIRATED stuff anywhere. Give some respect to other's work, cause you will also be in that state one day....

Ok, I am signing off for now. Catch up later ppl..

Business logics or tactics?

Hi all, how is life going for my blog readers? I prefer this question in a simple way like, "How are you treating life?". If I put this question in the other way like, "How is life treating you?", then you ppl. would start complaining, some thing or other. This is mainly because, the life is the director and the person being questioned will turn to be the actor. So instead if the question is framed in the first way I asked, then, the person being questioned turns to be the director and the life is actor. So it makes clear that everyone's life (or fate, the way you wish to call it) is defined and decided by them. Ok enough of philosophies (is it so?) and lets get to my long tried blog story.....

Sometime back, that's around December 2007, I went to a bag shop for getting a bag (obviously.. ;) ). The bag shop owner/sales man was doing an awesome trick (strategy?) to sell some of his costly bags. Following was what happened (this is what happened for another person in the shop. Read the 'You' in following points as 'that person')....

  1. You enter the shop and you are directed to the corresponding section.
  2. In there you browse through what ever you want and pull down anything, test anything. In short you can do anything you want and no body will disturb you.
  3. You can play around like this for 10 minutes. If you are smart enough or very clear on what you want, you can select a normal bag which suits both your need and budget within this stipulated time. But selecting within this 10 mins. is next to impossible, unless you are least bothered about the price and only care for features. The reason for (my)this statement is either the price tag will be unclear or if you select one and reach the cash counter the sales person will say, there is a discount for this and some other varieties. So he will lure you, so that you will get back to the section and will also ask for his help. If you are really really smart or clear in mind, you can end your shopping spree with this step.
  4. Now you will enter this step whatever was your action in the previous step. Now, the sales person starts stuffing you with choices without even letting you think for a minute. This will go on for next 10 mins. Now if you observe carefully, you can notice that atleast half dozen choices offered are of no use to you or from a different section. But this will happen so fast that you will not notice this and think those bags fall under the type you are looking for. Being innocent, you will reject them. :( .
  5. Even if you are some one born and brought up for shopping, you will certainly get confused and will end up with some 3 or 4 choices. Now the usual talking of sales person like "Take this sir/madam, this is good and will suit your need." "This has discount, whereas this doesn't has". "This is good quality, good brand"...yada yada yada.....Finally a bag will be selected and when you are about to reach the cash counter or even after you reach the sales person will be explaining about a bag like it is something which perfectly fites your need, budget, quality scale, warranty, good brand?! etc..etc.. (fill in with what you want and what you have in your mind).
  6. Now here again, he indirectly lures to take up something and by some strange coincidence you will take that up. By my observation, nearly all who where with me in that shop fell for it (including me... ;) ). This final step, the bag sold is certainly of higher price than what ppl. have selected.

I was able to deduce the logic for the first five points, but never able to understand the logic/concept behind point number 6. What was hit, that made ppl fall and why didn't anybody reject the final offer or why they changed their mind at last minute. This piece is a mystery for me and if you can unravel it, please let me know that plzzzz......I think this 6 point procedure might look idiotic or dumb for many, but it seriously matters and un-understandable for me.

about male orgasms...

Well, first point to note before reading the blog, I am not a medico. Ok, next I am going to write a little about orgasm. I am writing this mainly because, I feel there is a lot of myth surronding it (rather I am taught that way, and I am still unclear). So why not give an introduction about it, clarifying atleast some basic concepts.

First about male orgasms, problem in this is many people confuse this with ejaculation. Ejacualtion is an act in which sperm content is expelled (hope its a right choice of word) from penis (male sex organ).
Hmmm then what is is orgasm. In terms of definition from dictionary orgasm refers to the peak attained in terms of emotional intensity, a climax in non sexual sense also applies here. But recently this word is being associated with sexual orgasm alone. Orgasm is the climax of sexual excitement, consisting of intense muscle tightening around the genital area experienced as a pleasurable wave of tingling sensations through parts of the body. (defintion taken from encarata dictionary).
In medicos term there are rapid, rhythmic contractions of the prostate, urethra and the muscles at the base of the penis, which typically forces stored semen to be expelled through the penis's urethral opening blah blah blah....
Ok now this process takes plae for generally around 3 to 10 seconds of time and as the man grows older, this time might get reduced, but this NEVER means that it's going to reduce the pleasure he is going to expereince.

Since we now have a fair idea about orgasm, what happens after this?? . Ok this period is called as refractory period and in this state, the penis will not be strong enough to expereince another encounter and it takes some time to get ready. This period varies from minutes to half day based on the persons age, health condition blah blah blah...
There is another concept in which a male can attain an orgasm by stimulating the prostate gland, but it's tooooo techie in terms of medical for me, so will skip it. If you are interested please go through the link I have provided at the end of the article.

Now coming to the concept of male multiple orgasm (yahhhoooo even men have this, not just females enjoying this wonder.). Ok now there are two types of acts in this, one in which there is no ejaculation, but just the pleasure (a feeling or state of mind, i guess) felt called as dry orgasm. In the second type, there is ejaculation but no orgasm (no state of mind.) Man why do people do this second part, no fun in it at all. But one thing stated is if you follow any one process, during the final ejaculation (when having orgasm) the volume will be phenomenal, mean to say volume will be much higher than usual. This (mutliple orgasm) can be achieved by putting pressure on the perineum, just halfway between the scrotum and anus before ejaculating. Great whos got that patience and sure there will lots of failure even for just one success. But please mind that, this is never ever good for health on longer run causing damage to the never and blood vessels in that area. I think all want thier life to be for a longer run. Next thing i dont know what or how to do it and you also better not try something and cause some damage to you. Please speak with some doctor or if you do anything it's your wish to spoil your life, nobody can assume responsibility for it.
Now the other technique for mutiple orgasm is the usual one just relax and let yourself go and all these patient things.
Ok now there are few scientific studies pointing out that, a hormone named prolactin is a likely cause for the refractory period. So based on all these there are as usual great claims made for some medicines in the internet. (I guess all are some marketing ad and wonder how many really work). Ok anything, i don't care, just speak to a doc or a pharmacist before venturing into them. Whatever you do, get some advice from someone qualified.

well I have given a jist of what I read from wikipedia. I am providing the link for it below. I hope that people who posted it there won't mind me using it here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orgasm

Page also contains about female orgasm, anal orgasm, it's dsyfunction and how taking drugs might affect it etc. etc..
If you want my version, I am planning to write about female orgasm in next blog and end my part. Remember I am only planning not decided to do it.

Creating VC++ smart device project in VS2005

Ok, this is would be my first technical article here. Here we go
Well many of you people have been using Visual studio 2003 in their developmental activities. Recently windows has released Visual Studio 2005 and many people (also in their offices) would have upgraded to it. Some would have problems in creating VC++ smart device projects in this new environment and others would have nothing. What I mean problems here is "even creation of VC++ smart device project in the Visual Studio 2005 will not be possible." . This specific problem will be faced only in systems whose Internet explorer version is 7.0. . Strange as many of you might think and what could be the connection, when I am able to create a VB or VC# based smart device application in the same system using VS 2005. Again why not this happens if I have IE version 6.0. and VS 2005? So, instead of me explaining, I would like to borrow the words of Fernando Zandoná , the PM in charge of Windows Mobile SDK (Software Development Kit). He has mentioned the following in his blog,

Unable to Create Native (C++) Projects
VC++ Project Wizards are pretty much HTML files + scripts - Visual Studio uses IE to render and present those "web pages" as a wizard. The problem is that, due to the new security model, IE7 does not trust some of those scripts; as a result you keep getting the "New Project" dialog and can't move forward on the wizard. The workaround here is to let IE know that the smart device VC++ wizard is a nice guy and ok to run.

Now, how to overcome this. All you have to do is a simple modification in registry. Hey this modification is also mentioned by the same guy and not me.

Ok, now lets get started. Click on "Start" and then "Run". Now, type in "regedit" on the run dialog box and click on OK. Navigate through and open the following registry entry,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\PreApproved

In this entry create a new "key" (remember I mean a "registry key" and not a "value") with the following name,
{D245F352-3F45-4516-B1E6-04608DA126CC}

You need not add any value in this registry key. Hey while naming the key, don't forget the opening and closing curly braces.

After doing this, close the regedit and you must be able to create VC++ smart device projects in VS2005 environment without any problem.

So what say guys.

first blog in blogger

Hey all,
How is life? Well, this is my kind of first blog in blogger. Previously I was trying(?) to blog continously in another site and it was kind of mess. So, I decided to give blogger a try. Hey although tools are immaterial for a good writer, it is a BIGGG thing for novices like me ;-) . Ok now to the content, I'll write any crap that I consider worthful(for who?) in this site. So don't expect that you can read something interesting here. Ok and in the mean time I will try to migrate some non-senses I blogged about in the previous site. Ok thats all the story for now...Ahh forgot, please do visit often here and leave ONLY your POSITIVE comments, man I hate criticism :-)

Signing off for now....
